Mary Emily O’Hara is a self professed journalist whom writes long incoherent articles about rape, sex workers rights and claims to be an activist for women’s causes. Under normal circumstances I would not waste my time reading through her endless doldrums but recently she has switched her focus to writing about John McAfee. For now she has garnered my attention until she once again fades into the obscurity of her journalistic non-talent.
A tweet by Mary caught my eye this morning that I found conflicting and slightly insulting:
I take full responsibility for being the person Web and Mary are conversing about, I am the “Nut job obsessed McAfee stalker” they are referring to. I prefer to see myself as a concerned citizen with a journalistic focus on one very important topic, the truth. Let’s not focus on their comments concerning me personally.
I would like to draw your attention to the first tweet by Mary, “Good riddance. Portland sex trafficker of underage girls gets life sentence”. If you follow the link it takes you to a story about a man who was pimping girls as young as 16 years old. Obviously the man was sick and twisted and deserves what he got, life in prison.
Mary’s tweet is a double standard and really sheds light on her true nature. John McAfee was buying underage teen girls from Evaristo “Paz” Novelo in Belize. John’s girlfriend Samantha was pimped off to McAfee by “Paz” a known sex trafficker of underage girls when she was barely 16 years old. Where is Mary’s outrage about that?
I know who I am and why I am who I am. My sympathy can not be bought. John cannot invite me to the Bahama’s, stick a bribe in my pocket and expect my words to magically change in his defense. I will not sacrifice my inner integrity for his immorality at any price. It appears that others sympathies are too easily bought. So even if I am the “Nut job obsessed McAfee stalker” I prefer that title over being known as “Another McAfee whore with a Daddy Complex”.
Mary’s articles try to appeal to two crowds. She wants to appeal to victims of child sex crimes while pointing out how cool the child sex offender is. That approach is not only sickening but seriously diminishes the value of anything she says. In her article this morning she clearly stated she accepted $2900 in cash from John McAfee, that is change to him and Mary’s articles are conflicted. He bought her credibility. She needs to study the SPJ Code of Ethics before trying to pass herself off as a serious journalist.

The above picture is of Sam Vanegas who is now 19 years old and was pimped off to McAfee (67) years old by a known child sex trafficker in Belize named Evaristo “Paz” Novelo (when Sam was 16). If you are in Belize and want to have sex with a 12 year old – Evaristo is the man to talk to. Mary sees no problem with this picture?
Mary posted an article this morning and this is a quote from her article, ”
When the elevator doors open into the lobby of the Heathman Hotel, I feel the bulge in my pocket: $2,900, in one-hundred-dollar bills. Carrying this much cash makes me nervous and adds to my sense of inferiority, since I’m wandering around Portland’s most upscale hotel in jeans, a grubby sweatshirt, and mud-covered boots.
Everyone must think I’m a prostitute, and, well, maybe in a way I am.
I’ve just accepted a wad of cash from a wealthy gentleman to buy tickets to a tropical island paradise. But there will be no sexual favors. The money is for two last-minute flights and accommodations for a videographer and me.” (sic)
Disgusting. No sexual favors, just a wad of cash, fully paid accommodations and sweet stories of a child bride and her lover which happens to be 48 years her senior. Mary if you ever read this article, being called a nut job by you is a compliment.
Because Mary accepted cash and other items from McAfee – Nothing written by her can be taken seriously. It is a shame, I had high hopes for her future articles. All I get is, “Maybe I am a prostitute”. This sucks on so many levels. Score two points for John.
Mary O’Hara has either freed herself from the bondage of John McAfee by giving full disclosure and she is going to write the truth about sexual abuse, John’s predatory behavior and her real experiences with him or she is going to give us more paid advertising. I hope she vindicates herself and the truth has set her free.

When I wrote the above article the editor of Pandodaily.com and I had a discussion via Email which I will not disclose because that was our agreement. I will say, he seems like a good guy with a good head on his shoulders and in the future I might consider writing for him under my real name.

Professor of Journalism William (Bill) Dauber of Los Angeles Valley College seems to agree with me. I was quite pleased to have seen this confirmation from the Professor. He favored my answer.
